Unlocking the Value of the Circular Tech Forum
This CircularTechForum report provides a detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Battery Passport’s impact across the circular value chain — highlighting its economic, environmental, and social advantages. It also explores the practical challenges stakeholders may face in implementing and managing the Battery Passport, offering strategic, actionable insights for businesses and policymakers to unlock its full potential within the EU regulatory framework.
CTF Webinars: Standardizationin Digital Product Passports & Battery Passports - engaging with global DPP Community
This webinar explores the evolving standardisation landscape of the Digital Product Passport and its role as a key digital infrastructure for the circular economy under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
The discussion reflects the growing maturity of the DPP ecosystem, with many organisations now moving from policy awareness to practical implementation questions. Participants raised a wide range of topics that illustrate the current challenges companies face as they prepare for upcoming regulatory requirements.
Among the key questions discussed were:
How can the accuracy and trustworthiness of DPP data be ensured and verified?
What level of data granularity will be required in practice — product, model, batch, or item level?
How will recyclers and end-of-life operators realistically use Digital Product Passports in high-volume operational environments?
What role will emerging technologies such as verifiable credentials, knowledge graphs, and distributed systems play in enabling trusted data exchange?
And how should companies start building their internal data structures and digital capabilities while standards are still evolving?
One key takeaway from the discussion is clear: waiting for fully finalized standards is not a viable strategy.
With regulatory direction already established, companies that begin preparing early — by strengthening product data governance, digital infrastructure, and cross-organizational collaboration — will be significantly better positioned for future compliance and for unlocking new circular economy opportunities.
The conversation highlights an important reality: the DPPs is not only a compliance tool, but a foundational element for more transparent, connected, and circular value chains.

CircularTech Webinar: The Economics of Digital Product Passports – From Materials to Market
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us live for this insightful CircularTech webinar on 03.04.2025!Â
In this session, Elliana Jensen-Abieva (CircularTech), Adrian von Mühlenen (BASF), and Thomas L. Roedding (Narravero) explored how Digital Product Passports are reshaping circular value chains—economically and practically.
Key Takeaways Include:
🔹 Standardization is Key – Harmonized digital material representations unlock scalable solutions.
🔹 Data Sovereignty – Economic operators retain control of DPP data.
🔹 Lifecycle Thinking – DPPs must span the full product lifecycle, from sourcing to end-of-life.
🔹 The True Cost of DPPs – Clear setup, low per-unit cost, high value.
🔹 Collaborative Infrastructure – Shared standards like Catena-X, ECLASS, and AAS drive efficiency.
🔹 Modular Design – Reusable data blocks save time and reduce implementation costs.
🔹 First Movers Advantage – Early adopters shape markets and gain regulatory edge.
🎯 Whether you’re a manufacturer, policymaker, tech innovator, or sustainability leader—this webinar offers valuable insights to help you make informed decisions in the evolving landscape of Digital Product Passports.

CircularTech Webinar: Textile Industry - Implementing the Digital Product Passport
🌟 A Big Thank You to Our CircularTech Community!
On 15.08, we had the pleasure of hosting another insightful webinar: “Textile Industry: Implementing the Digital Product Passport.” The energy and engagement from all of you made it a truly dynamic session.
A special shoutout to our expert speakers – Roman Houlbreque from Retraced, Juliane Nowakowski – Tom Tailor and Andreas Schneider from GTSÂ (Global Textile Scheme) – who led a lively discussion on key topics such as traceability in textiles, how companies are gearing up for the new data requirements, end-to-end process changes and the introduction of new DPP target groups in the textile industry. We also explored the DPP system, the potential mapping of ESPR requirements, standardization requests to DPP meta – structure, and gained valuable insights into how brands like Tom Tailor are preparing for this journey, including the challenges they face when working with suppliers.
It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and engage in such a rich exchange of ideas. We’re excited to keep the momentum going and invite you to join us on September 16th at the CircularTech Forum24. We’ll be diving into what we can learn from the battery passport case and how these lessons can be applied to other regulated industries, including textiles.
